Lensculture recently named the Emerging Talent Award winners of 2018 and I am pleased to announce that I was selected by juror Caroline Wall from Robert Mann gallery in New York as a juror’s pick meaning I receive a grant of $2500. Lensculture says:
“These photographers are all making remarkable, inspiring work right now while working in cultures all over the world. An international jury of photography experts reviewed hundreds of truly excellent submissions from more than 150 countries — and these 50 photographers rose to the top. They are creating truly amazing work that covers a wide range of subject matter and creative approaches — it’s fresh, inventive, meaningful and memorable.”
“Leah Kennedy’s work stood out to me among all the wonderful entries for this competition because of her exquisite sense of composition, color palette and concept. Her images, which explore the relationship between humans and the environment, have resulted in a very strong series of works that are simultaneously beautiful and thought-provoking, directly addressing the mark we make on our landscape.”
